Yeah, I was watching some broken 501S (or were they 500S, I don't remember, haha) amps that sold pretty cheap I forgot about them actually & was surprised to see them go pretty reasonable, I have not checked for any in a few days though. Sounds like it may be a good time to find some deals! I want to get back into amp repair more, I liked buying them broken, fixing em, & selling em! Some people want so much for broken stuff though it just isn't worth it after you have to buy all the parts, & I refuse to spend a fortune on a non working / blown amp, lol! If you can snag some cheap go for it for sure, you might be able to make some extra cash fixing / selling them too.

Oh ok, well if the 55.2 is pretty bad it may not hurt snagging some parts from it I guess, lol. I seen stuff about that at diy myself, when the outputs go other parts can get knocked out as well. But overall there not too difficult to work on, surface mount parts can be difficult when replacing, but with a little practice you get better, plus what's nice is the schematic for the 800a2 is available plus info on what to replace if the outputs are blown, makes repair easier. You may have already seen it but here is a site with some repair info on them, the products & Service Tips pages have info on the 800a2 (copy & paste it in your browser): http://194.204.29.93/rockford/

Those terminals are melted pretty bad, & I can't tell but it looks like some of the brass of the block is gone! But they say half of it still works, so depending on how bad the condition is on the inside (may be just fine) it should be fixable, but hard to really say until you get it & peak inside. Each of the power blocks holds 8 gauge wires (four 8-gauge wires total), so if your 55.2 has that you should be good. Or you could go real old school & solder power wire right to the board & just use fuse holders to connect to the wires (I hate stealing parts from other amps, lol, I would still try to fix the 55.2 & figure something else out on the 800, haha). Hopefully you get it for a good price, maybe the melted terminals will scare others off! I like the amp link he has, but that price & it's broken, way too much I think.

15 bucks for a pair of XLC 12's with a box? Where the heck do you find all these deals, lol! As much as I like the 800's & although the 800a4 is nice, its output is split between the 4 channels, so I would prefer the a2, but the a4 is nice though. Yeah, you should be able to fix the melted terminals, especially if you have an amp that has good ones in it, but it's hard to say until you have the amp in your hands & look at it. Although I would hate to hear parts got pulled from another 800 that could possibly be repaired yet to fix another, but I guess it could always be worked on at a later date! Lol. I love the ones around 1998, 1999, & 2000 I believe as well! Only down side to the old woofers is the foam surround is starting to really age, my 98 or 99 punch 8's are starting to deteriorate & coming apart. Later man!

Not much man what's going on! Yeah, from the inside pics I have seen it does indeed look just like the 800a2 & my guess is it puts out the same amount of power. I remember there was a seller (this was a couple years ago) on ebay selling new replacement boards for the 700S, they were new, some sold pretty cheap, I am kicking myself now for not getting any! Every thing about the 700s is pretty much just like the 800, same number of power supply fets, output fets, same size heatsink, etc. (if I remember right). Well worth getting if you can get a good deal on one. I am not sure of what the cost would be for one these days, likely close to that of a 800a2, at least last time I watched some on ebay it was (its been a while).
