The whole purpose in creating this profile was to learn more about natural hair. Although I've had this profile since 2007, I am just starting to get more on it (and it is now 2010). LOL! My last relaxer was March 6th, 2010. I am now in the transition of becoming natural. I know right!! LOL! I can't believe it either. I had my first relaxer at the tender age of 9 (19 years of relaxed hair). I hope to get more hair tips from my natural hair sistas (as well as "transition natural hair sistas) on youtube (and other locations). Oh just to let you know, I am not doing the BC (BIG CHOP)!! My head is too big for that! LOL! I will gradually clip the relaxed ends until it is officially gone. So if I have to transition for 2 years, then that is what I will do:). Products Being Used While Transitioning (or have used so far): Shea Butter (the real pure unrefined shea butter), Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Aphogee Hair Care Products, Dr. Miracle's Hot Gro Oil, Hair Sheen Spray (paraben-free), and Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Moisturizing Hair Milk. During my transition, I will wear my hair in protective styles (for ex. microbraids for 2-3 months, twist-out or braid-out curl hairstyle for 1-2 month(s), sew-in weaves for 2-3 months, and in a slick bun. I will not use "direct heat" (ex. flat iron, hot curlers, etc.) on my hair while it's transitioning. I think it's a really bad idea to flat iron your natural hair roots to match it with your relaxed hair. I will wait to flat iron my hair on my first naturalversary (when I am 1 year of 100% natural - no relaxed ends) as a gift for myself. I am also utilizing this profile to get some healthy tips on food and exercise regimens. I am trying to lose weight and get in shape. In addition, I embrace my beautiful black brothers and sisters' beauties. We should flaunt it more and not be so self-conscious because of our look. Our look makes us look even more beautiful. So I may have favorite videos of natural hair sistas and beauties just to show how beautiful we are. And I love to see beautiful, fine, black men who embraces the beauty of us (black women). I only subscribe to people who are either talking about: black hair (natural or transitioning to natural), hairstyles, hair care, hair growth (basically hair regimens), skin care, healthy foods, beauty, fitness, contests (give-aways), cute titles like "what's in my bag (for ex.)", tags, day-to-day issues (black men and women's opinions), fashions, greek sororities/fraternities (sisterhood/brotherhood), military, jobs, favorite athletes, favorite singers/rappers, favorite actors, or artists.Goal weight: 150 - 154 lbs.Weight as of Mon.
