@TWSceptic Yeah, but I think it depends. Gold and silver aren't the only things worth having. I think a lot of people would want to have farmland access to food if it was a real crisis. Even moreso than gold and silver. Other tangible assets like oil and coal will probably also be worth a lot.

It's funny how liberals act like they have all these new ideas, but in fact their ideas are the oldest ideas in human history. It's also very sad that people don't understand history other than the propaganda spoon fed to them in school.

@DoneWithDogma Corporations don't care about their employees at all because they are an entity. The president or CEO of a Corporation may have different thoughts about it. That really doesn't matter because they will always act in the best interest of the Corporation regardless of the government....

@schmoborama Of course I have few examples here in the USA. We have had crippling regulations on finance as long as time. We didn't used to have many regulations before 1918 before the Fed was created. Back then we had some of the fastest growth rates we have ever had.

@CosmicFork Unions actually result in fewer workers being hired because the businesses are forced to pay the workers more. Thus the employer cannot hire as many workers and we have unemployment. Even worse sometimes the jobs are simply outsourced overseas because the business cannot pay the Union...

I like what Milton Friedman said about the Fed. He said that any system that depends on the intelligence of one man is a bad system.

Yes government has done "some" good, but at a gigantic cost. Money is run through government. The little bit that gets back out to help people after running through the bureaucracy mess does a lot less than it could do if it were in the hands of the people.

Libertarians do not believe in anarchy at all, but many of the people on occupy wall street believe in anarchy... Everything she said is spin from the media.
