Urban Sheepherders

As you will see, most of our video posts will be on our two dogs, Scout and Pepper. Scout is an Australian Cattle Dog (or Queensland Heeler)/Border Collie mix, and Pepper is a full Border Collie. We received both of them from a local shelter (yes, shelter, not rescue), so, in an attempt to deal with their typical "shelter dog" issues (and wanting to be responsible urban dog-owners), we have both of them in herding lessons. We at first started herding for the sake of channeling their natural herding instincts in an appropriate setting. But we, like most, got roped in and have entered them in herding trials. Scout lives to work; Pepper is on her way to becoming a champion. We feel pretty darn proud that we are able to live in an urban condo with two extremely high energy dogs (breeds that many people say should never live anywhere except on a farm) and not have any major issues with them--needless to say, our dogs are our lives and take up all our free time.
