Born in Bronx, New York, Joseph Jerman began making movies at the age of 10, when his father entrusted him with the family video camera. At age 17, he took his East Coast film experience and headed west to the University of Southern California, where he graduated with honors from the School of Cinema/Television. During his enrollment, Joseph wrote and directed 10 short films.

In 2000, Joseph directed and starred in a three-time award winning comedy short film called, "Legacy of the Jedi" which won Best Comedy on Ifilm.com and was featured in "Premiere" magazine's October 2001 issue. In 2004, Joseph jumped back into the director's chair for another short film production titled, "Trailer of My Life". The film won the award for best short film at the Valley Film Festival.

His latest endeavor "Marshall" is another short film that he wrote and directed. It was selected by Fox's "On The Lot" contest for 2007. When he's not producing his own projects, Joseph works as a freelance cameraman based out of Southern California.
