Great film but in the book part 8 never happened. It ends with her putting up her pictures, a thing she does only when she accepts a place as home. One thinks she'll be like her friend Edie and stay there forever. Very, very sad.

Today some would say this movie is politically incorrect. It hovers between mid-fifties sensibilities and the sexually freer attitudes of 1971 when William Inge published the book. I call it brave. It does not compromise.

Really good. Wish I could have seen it in 1971 when I was so affected by Argento's Bird With the Crystal Plumage. Farley G is always great and Blanc is superb as the pale nympho vixen muse. The ending is so over the top opened ended wonderful nonsense. I see myself leaving the theatre laughing ...

Very insightful. Good stuff. I connected with the comments on the other series running at the time, They were wonderful shows. But I always heard that the show was inspired by Kerouac's On The Road.

As a kid in the 60s I loved rock but at the same time you couldn't not love Mancini.

He transended. And still does. Brilliant.
