Music is my passion. It is life. The feeling you get when you hear a cadence, a riff or a solo, and it can send shivers up your spine. That's your soul being touched by something beautiful. Fundamentally, Music Journalism is a profession which aims to give the public an insight into what is available in the music world.
As a music critic, I feel if I can turn someone on to a song that touches them, or invokes emotion in a positive way, my job is done. In my honest opinion, too much backscratching goes on in the free press. Articles are more likely than not, accompanied by advertising concerning the same band. And although I think that no articles should be written as outright beat ups, of course everyone's musical preference is going to differ. They should be written with finesse and be founded on an honest and constructive perspective.

R.E.M is calling it a day... This is sad, what a brilliant band. Did you know Kurt Cobain had one of there albums in his cd player when he killed himself. also the guitarist now has Kurts Strat.... Gonna miss there styles.

It's only really starting to hit home to me that Brisbane's Powderfinger are no longer a band. This saddens me deeply when I think of all the good times I can associate with their songs, holidaying on the NSW north coast and listening to "Sunsets" for one. But mainly the euphoria their music has bought into my life. The ability to seek out and reach my deepest emotions. It's worse than losing Kurt when he Suicided, They were Brissy lads and their sounds were brissy born. I know all good things must come to an end, It's just hard to let go of something so beautiful with the chemistry that these guys shared musically. Peace guys, Love your ways.
