I have to admit I like Phil's version from the 80s cuz he could hit and sustain the high notes, and the lighting techniques with Varilites gave the ending to this majestic piece more power and emotion. it was some of the best most emotional prog rock i experienced.

Saw this performed live. Loved the concert in 76. the moog failed, Emerson had it lowered below stage to fix it. Took like 20 minutes. When it rose back up, big roar from crowd. they finished the show.

One of my favorite pieces. I try so hard to "drum" to this on my electronic kit but Palmer's speed and technique is too hard to copy. Amazing. lake is no slouch on guitar and bass mind you.
