@mikeA6q for what it's worth, this concert took place at the Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY. I have the DVD and that's what it says in the notes that came with it. back then they always closed with "oh atlanta", I've been told, since there wasn't an "oh louisville" they could play .....

@TheKeetkeet66 You might like the live version of "Oh Atlanta" by AKUS from their "Live" CD/DVD released in 2002 or 2003. it's on youtube, and it's the most belting out I've seen her do, and great instrumentally, too, in my opinion.

thanks for posting this, it' so good. And what more is there that can be said about alison's singing? It's just beautiful, and jerry's solo in this song is a work of art (if I must say so myself !)

Thanks so much doc for re-posting this. AKUS is just so talented that all the superlatives fall short, and this DVD has so many gems on it . For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, check it out, it's a real treat start to finish.

This is one of my favorite songs from the movie. Alison and Gillian also sang this song live in the "Down from the Mountain" concert film, which is on CD and DVD; the live version is really good, maybe worth looking for if you like this song.

Thanks for posting this; AKUS is just great everytime. If you have this DVD and could post "wild bill jones " too, that would be really nice :) ......

This is very moving, thanks for sharing it. Beautiful music can be so helpful in times of grief, and this is a beautiful song. That quote at the end echos another one I like, namely that "love never dies ..... "

What a way to end the show! If you like AKUS, the DVD of this concert is worth having; the sound quality and video quality are excellent, great song variety, well done all-around.

I noticed in JB's comments about each song in the "Emotion and Commotion" CD's notes, he says of this song "it's one of the most beautiful songs ever written", and he does a beautiful version of it here.

Okay, I'll comment ... this is just too good. I still get a kick out of watching sierra in this; that ability and that poise at 10 years old, and sam bush, too. And there's only been 3,182 views of this? I guess bluegrass mandolin isn't for everyone .....
