Tom, a native of Pittsburgh, has appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as well as on Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. He has performed twice at Carnegie Hall, and was featured solo with Dick Hyman at New York`s 92nd St. Y. He also arranged and performed the music for Martin Scorceses The Aviator.
Susanne, a native of Augsburg, Germany, is the founder, leader and arranger of the German quartet Sing Your Soul, and is a renown expert and research scholar in various genres of world music.
Together they are the Ortner-Roberts Duo performing a unique fusion of swing, gypsy, tango, rembetika, early calypso, harlem stride, valse musette, klezmer, classical... They call their concert repertoire "Hot World Chamber Music".

World The OrtnerRoberts Duo explore the rich traditions of world music and discover little known treasures, occasionally combining the results of their discoveries into an eclectic musical gumbo. Calypso from Trinidad, Tango from Argentina, Greek Rembetika, French Valse Musette, Klezmer from Eastern Europe, Flamenco from Spain, Beguine from Martinique, Turkish music and the passionate music of the Gypsies from India to Spain.
