Because if they fail to adjust to its customers' needs, it loses money and could go out of business, especially if a competitor manages to meet those needs. We have way to much corruption and influence controlling our law makers and those that govern tasks that are far to great to do on our own thus government provides us enough safety for us all to keep society civil and running with a steady flow.
