Thanks for reaching out to us! We agree advertising can be pretty lame. But it also makes a lot of things possible. Youtube is owned by Google. Google makes most of its money through selling advertisements. Money from these ads funds Youtube's content acquisition, bandwidth, and storage. In other words, without advertising, it would be difficult to share videos of log fights on the internet :)
