Interesting channel here. I actually knocked down the load bearing wall in my house and put up a Lam Beam to get more space. After reconfiguring the drains and water feeds, I had plenty of room to start fresh with a large kitchen. I took a lot of work and made a big sheet rock mess, but the end result was more than worth it.
