Music for Relaxation, Sleep, and Massage
About Me:
I started writing these songs just to help myself relax and deal with stress and insomnia.
My wife and family encouraged me to record them and share them with others, so I started working on recording on my laptop, using a few simple programs like Riffworks, Cakewalk, and GuitarPort to try to capture what I heard in my head.
The ocean sounds you hear were recorded in Santa Barbara, CA. It was hard finding ocean that was not too loud or startling, and that was at the right tempo to fit the songs, but the beach there was perfect. If you listen with headphones you can actually hear the surf swirl around you in 360 degree surround sound!
I uploaded my first video in August 2011 just to share with my immediate friends and family, and thought no more than maybe 20 people would ever see it or hear it.
I was amazed when I checked back a few weeks later to see that it had been seen and liked by people all around the world. It's so cool that this technology can connect us from places so far apart!

I think you capture it all very well. I just turn on the computer at night...press the screen off.
Then i just listen, as i can be anywhere i want in this mad world.

In a weird way when I was younger I used to like the tranquility of that few seconds after listening to Overkill by Motorhead, that's very relaxing like the calm after the storm! But I guess that's not your raison d'etre.
