If I can suggest you, I would tell that "I"m Alright - Neil Zaza", is one of the song that will make you improve a lot.
I didn't have any " musical education ". I'm just trying to play and feel some pleasure. Try to put my heart on those notes, makes them show you what I'm feeling.
I think that it's the most important ; play with your emotions. Technics, theory, etc... it will come at any rate.
