Donny Osmond - Mary Did You Know
This is the fourteenth track from Donny's Christmas CD. This is my favorite version of this song. I love how Donny put emotion into it.

He played it at this speed mainly to try and fit it on to one side of a 78. Rubenstein & Horowitz had both recorded it on two sides but Barere insisted he could make it happen. He recorded it twice and not surprisingly complained afterwards that his hands were tired.

CD recordings make opera seem very easy these days. This is live and he has the balls to go for it. In the studio 20 takes to get it right is not uncommon.
What a waste of a Bosendorfer!
