@haveagreenafternoon The McGurk effect is why I suggested to try and sing the perceived back masked lyrics and then reverse that, if you get something sounding close to stairway then yes you could call this a true back mask if not then it needs to be filed under a McGurk.

Honestly has any taken the lyrics that cowards89 here says are hear, and tried to record someone singing the backward version to see if when it is played forward do they get the original song or even close to the original song. Then it would qualify as a true back mask. Otherwise with out that...
