A Mix Of everything
Quiet. A homegirl with a love for music, art and whatever keeps the soul energized. If I could do one thing it would be to feed the world and end hunger.

Hip Hop was a love of mine but, like an ex-boyfriend, I may deal with it but things will never be the same. I still love the old school years (1979-1989, maybe until 1994). Most of the stuff today is garbage. There seems to be a lost of love for the genre. Many see the dollar and that's it. They are willing to do whatever they have to do, even if it means bring down the art, to get what they want. Isn't that what a prostitute does? Treat Hip Hop like a women you love. She'll always be there for you. Look at KRSONE, Rakim, and LL Cool J. Prime examples of respect. 20+ years and they still have the respect without selling their soul.

I want to see a day when Hip Hop returns to what it supposed to be: Unity, non-violent and versatile. Everything played today sounds the same. Same beats, lyrical delivery, content, and tempos. The same producers see one thing and everyone wants to do the same thing while those who are showing versatility don't get any type of airplay. If you didn't know, the DJ's don't control the radio stations, the sponsors do. Heck, the music directors seem to have little knowledge of what going on. They want to sell the sex, the violence, the abuse of black women and the destruction of our youth JUST to say that they are the "number One Station for Hip Hop and R&B."

This expands to our education. We speak in a language we call "slang" but in actuality it's ignorance. Using words (phrases) like, "I'm dat boi whoever," and "I be da nigga but yu dat wak wun doe" doesn't sound cool... it sounds ignorant. Keep in mind, 10+ years ago, the sme one's who are pushing your (musical) product and your (gangsta) image are the same one's who tried to ban it and say that "Hip Hop is just a fad." Listen to the song "Talking All That jazz" by Stetsaonic. It speaks volumes.

Wake up, brothers and sisters. We're losing what WE created (Just like Rock N Roll). Would you eat the flesh of your dead brother? Let's stop the violence and show everyone that we can do more than sell dope, abuse women and brag about things we've gotten from the success of Hip Hop. Is your chain and your car the best things you can be proud about?
