Natural Hair Journey!
About Me:
The reason for my channel is to share my natural hair experience. I am natural and am loving it! Thus far I have had three Big Chops. I am still learning and mostly by trial and error however I am still in the race. I started my journey in February 2009 and have continued to this day, on and off then back on again. This has been an incredible journey for me and I enjoy seeing change. I am also interested in learning more about taking care of my hair and listening/watching other's experience. Feel free to join me in this experience and share your journey as well. We could use one another's encouraging words and videos!

My Story so far...
* Hair type : 4B
* Hair color : 1B (Natural black)
* Transition or Big Chop : Big Chop!
* Big Chop Date : December 31, 2010
12 months natural
* Last Cut : September, 2011
* Trimming techniques : Wash hair and then do two strand twist and then cut dead ends. I only trim when it is necessary and not on a schedule. Check out my video "9 Months Post BC (Trimming My Natural Hair)"
* Current Hair Length : 4 3/4 inches
* Length Goal : As long as it will grow and remain healthy. Hopefully 20 inches (I can dream can't I?)
* Hair Care Products that I currently use - WATER ; Eco Styler Gel ; Olive Oil ; Giovanni Direct Leave-In ; Castor Oil ; Jojoba Oil ; Tea Tree Oil ; Elasta QP Soy Oyl Deep Conditioner ; Entire Crece Pelo product line
* Favorite Product : Giovanni Direct Leave In
* What's New! : No longer care for Crece Pelo line as the Shampoo strips my hair. I will now try the Giovanni product line for the next 6-12 months.
* Hair Care Regimen : Once a week I wash my hair with Crece Pelo shampoo, Do a Black Tea Rinse, Crece Pelo Treatment ; Crece Pelo Rinse ; Apply a leave in conditioner ; apply Crece Pelo Drops to my scalp and then style (usually braid it). I spritz with water/4 oil mixture throughout the week to keep it moisturized.
* Why did I go natural : To allow my hair and body to be the healthiest it could be. Also to allow my hair to be thicker and grow faster. I have also learned to accept who I am as a Black person. I wanted to embrace it (skin tone, hair texture, body, voice and culture) and not hide under the facade that I was introduced to at a younger age. I love me in every fashion of my life!
