Actually, some theories have shown it's probably written in a code based on abbreviations of Medieval Italian. I believe, as I've read in publications, that it's a coded reference work that someone created to keep his own knowledge secret. (Think about Da Vinci's mirror writing.)

I don't understand why this song is not considered as a rock classic - I think it is far better and more affecting than "Free Bird" or "Stairway to Heaven." If rock music produced a truly epic work, this would be it.
