@MrLisztian Nope, Middle C is C4, according to International Scientific Pitch notation. Up one octave is C5. This note is only 2-1/2 steps above C5, not quite 1-1/2 octaves above Middle C. I'm a soprano and this is easy-peasy stuff for me.

This is truly beautiful-- however, I prefer Barbara Bonney's interpretation. NO ONE can hold a candle to Ms. Bonney. To me, Ms. Hendricks sounds just a TAD pretentious here, and as others mentioned, the vowel sounds on the melismas just aren't quite there. Still, a very nice performance.

BTW... I usually sing this piece in the original German (Ellens dritter Gesang). It's a 'change of pace' for those who are used to hearing it in the Latin that was sung here.

Oh and owajee... I do sing. I've sung in many choirs and as a soloist and church cantor. I'm a soprano (mezzo soprano, actually) in my Catholic church's Traditional choir now. We sang this about 2 months ago. Love this piece, but these kids could use some help to polish it up.
