i beat him recently..using lightning,hope and sazh..i thought my strategy won't work but it really worked on my first try.. hahahaha.. but i think you strategy is more effective.. considering mine compared as lucky because of my stats.. ^^,

thanks to your vid.. i defeated barthandelus just 2 hours ago. . hehehe.. but for me i didn't use shrouds and the buffs and debuffs i only need is haste,faith,shell,imperil, and the paradigms i used are (med,sab,syn),(com,com,med),(rav,rav,rav),(com,rav,med),(med­,syn,med),(com,rab,rav)...

i beaten this guy already...using lightning,snow and vanille.. i was supposed to use hope instead of vanille because the stats of hope needs more improving before you fight this ugly again in chapters 11 and 13.. the paradigms i used are..aggresive,tri-disaster,discretion,relentless assault, delt...
