    Yoko Ono- Hirake

"Hirake", by Yoko Ono, from the 1971 Avant-garde album, "Fly".

    keith904A keith904A commented:

The thing I like about her music is that there are so many echoes of what came much later in the decade. This sounds like a completely unhinged Talking Heads circa 79/80. It's also close to what Can were doing (incidentally with a Japanese lead singer). Never understood why Can are regarded a...

Reminds me as well of a more unhinged P J Harvey. Nice to see no haters on this post. Someone said somewhere if you love The Beatles, you will hate Yoko, but if you love Can, you will get it immediately. How true.

Without being too muso, I think Paul Leary is seriously underrated as a guitarist. You need soul to play decent guitar like Hendrix or Eddie Hazel or Michael Karoli or Steve Hillage not technical brilliance.

    keith904A keith904A commented:

@glassbreaker5791 This sounds more like Can than most people realise! Damo Suzuki was the male Yoko Ono. It's been widely stated that the experimental German bands of the late 60s/early 70s thought Yoko was the most creative "member" of The Beatles - and you can see why.
