I thought you were fooling us and we were listening to FM repeater chat until you moved the dial. I was thinking about an 857D but now I'm thinking maybe I should save a little more and go for the 950.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Steve and I am an Amateur Radio operator, my call is KD8MKG and my license class is General. I've set this channel up to present some (hopefully) interesting and educational videos related to Amateur Radio. My current QTH (ham radio jargon for 'home station') is a second floor condo in a building of 16 total units. This has presented some unique challenges to getting on the air, but with a little creativity I've been able to do ok so far.
Currently I have the following equipment:
2m/70cm Radio: Yaesu FT-7900R
HF Radio: None yet!
Power Supply: Astron SS30M
Antenna Analyzer: MFJ-29B
Coax: 200' of Jetstream JT2015F Stranded RG-8 (Equivalent to Belden 9913)
Antennas:
Par Electronics EndFedz 20-meter End-fed dipole
Par Electronics EndFedz 15-meter End-fed dipole
Par Electronics EndFedz 10-meter End-fed dipole
Arrow Antenna OSJ146/440 Dual-band J-pole for 2m/70cm
All of my antennas are deployed in the attic over my condo. If you have any questions about getting on the air in a apartment/condo setting, feel free to message me!
Hey K2FR! Thought you might enjoy my 10/22 & Glock 26 video! 73s DE KD8MKG
