About Murphyland
I'm Murph. I've always been fascinated with audio and video editing. Much of my life (limited by the lack of affordable technology) involved dreams about doing exactly this: Playing and having fun, using images and music to tell a story or capture a moment of my own imagination. Most, actually ALL of what you see here is the result of self-taught experimentation with concepts and ideas.
I got my "big break" a few years ago when one of my closest friends auditioned for The Amazing Race and suggested I help them put together a small featurette which included partial nudity, a hearse with flames on the side, and a 25 minute outtake roll. The whirlwind of insanity sparked a small fire, the result of which is on the screen for you to enjoy.
When I find a video which influences or inspires me, you'll find it in my "favorites" so be sure to check those out too.
Many of my musical selections were discovered on "The Diner," a great podcast hosted by James Lileks. Definitely worth checking out.
