My roommate had a cat kinda like this once. Got her when she was a tiny kitten, nobody was ever anything but nice to her, but she was just evil. We theorized that perhaps she had some kind of brain damage.

@Algren79Kyubbi I think because young beauty looks healthy, like someone who should be somehow guarded from death. So it surprises people, though it shouldn't, that the young and beautiful can die.

Notice his rapidly-blinking eyes. It's a sign of stress or nervousness. Confessing bad behavior to those you have hurt is stressful. He isn't being glib at all here, and he's no actor ... Of course, whether he *will* change remains to be seen, but I do not doubt that for now he wants to.
