Keith (K.O) Owens... Religious Reject!

Born Dec, 10th 1985 to a typical Christian home, Keith Owens was taught the typical Christian values. Early in his life, he started his climb up the proverbial religious ladder. Just 3 years after graduating high school, he began traveling the world as a Christian missionary, flying to 11 different countries and 26 states, preaching what was taught to him his entire life.
Keith reached the apex of his Christianity in the year 2006, when, at the age of 20, he was appointed youth pastor of a very prominent local mega church. To Keith, he was living out the perfect Christian life. Times were good. He was gaining notoriety, speaking all around the city, making good money and was "in" with all the big names of mainstream Christianity, especially in Pittsburgh. He had a nice car, ladies loved him, and his pastor considered him his very own son. Life could not have been better, however, unbeknownst to Keith Owens, God desired more of him than a name and a platform. God wanted relationship.
For over a year, Keith's life continued "on course." For him, the sky was the limit. That was until a tragic night on November 20th 2007, when a young woman who was very dear to Keith's heart was accidently shot and killed by a young man in Keith's own home. This was the end of life as Keith knew it. Holding himself personally responsible for this tragic event, he quickly down-spiraled into a state of extreme self-destruction, depression and anger. Things only got worse as he was systematically cut off and forgotten by those whom he considered church family. Keith grew very bitter towards God. He blamed Him for the rejection and actions of the church. Forsaken, alone, Keith sought out fulfillment through ever-more destructive means. From drinking, smoking, and pushing drugs, to playboy and literal pimp, Keith had entered into the darkest hours of his life. But, the prodigal son always makes his return.
In the midst of his wild lifestyle and self-centered living, he couldn't help but feel a deep emptiness and need for something real. Despite his behavior, the Seed of Christ was growing within him. He knew now that mainstream Christianity was far from real and far from Christ-like. He realized that the religious system is exactly what Jesus despised the most. Christ never came to establish a religion, but to reveal a Kingdom. Through his trials, Keith learned that religion is man-made. Established for the sole purpose of controlling people with fear and counterfeit emotion, each Sunday it offered an emotional high to its members, much like a drug dealer offers a high to junkies. Keith looked back at his former life and saw that the more fake he was the better he fit in. He awakened to the reality that Religion made him constantly work for something that was already his, causing him to feel like he never measured up. Furthermore, this cycle was perpetuated in order to keep members showing up to the circus every Sunday, and subsequently, to keep the money flowing and the business running. Like himself, anyone who did not conform to this system was instantly shunned. This was wrong, and deep down, he knew something had to be done about it.
My name is Keith Owens, and God chose me for such a time as this, to show the world that Christ was sent to reconcile all to God, not just those who "are worthy." My assignment is simple- to destroy the works of religion and set the captives free to pursue their own relationship with the God of the Universe. I accomplish these goals through my music. It is my way, my instrument, of tearing down the high places and expressing the true nature of God and his love for ALL humanity, not just Christians
