I just taught this to my dog recently and she loves this game. I have added the command "find it" now that she knows what the game is. Are you using a command when you send Gage out? Or does he just have natural retriever instincts?

I have always had cats and dogs living together and they do just fine. The dogs know that cats rule in the end and have a healthy respect. One swipe on the nose for getting too rambunctious is all it ever takes. Some of the cats and dogs ignore each other, some play together.
