About Me:

The Kauai Concert Association (KCA) began in 1974 with a mission to bring world class music to Kauai. The organization currently presents an eight concert season with a wide variety of classical, dance, jazz, and world music for the enjoyment and edification of Kauai residents and visitors.

Over the years, KCA has hosted such performers as the San Francisco Opera, Oakland Ballet, Hiroshima, Bela Fleck, Ernie Watts, Black Grace, and Chanticleer. Performances are held primarily at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center Theater, Kauais most modern and acoustically superb venue. However in the past, KCA has presented at the Coco Palms Hotel and the Kauai Convention Center and smaller venues. Audiences over the past decades have grown tremendously with an attendance of over 3,000 in the 2007-08 season. KCA has added the Red Clay Jazz Festival, an annual event that has been expanded to two days in June of the 2008-09 season.

In recent years, KCA has added Scholarship and Educational Service components to our mission. The current mission of Kauai Concert Association is to provide quality classical and modern performing fine arts and to provide musical education opportunities.

In the 2007-08, KCA awarded $10,000 for needy students to continue their studies with private teachers in piano, violin, all areas of dance, trumpet and saxophone.

Our Educational Service component has grown over the past several years. During this coming season, we plan a total of seven educational performances to be held at schools, senior centers and dance studios. Educational services provide an opportunity for students and adults on Kauai to interact personally with world class artists in various genres of the performing arts. Many times, KCA provides the first opportunity for the community to see professional musicians from all over the world perform and speak to them on a one to one basis.
