I want to try to make a dog shaped cake for my daughters' birthday. I've never sculpted before. Do you just use a sharp knife and sculpt the cake? Any tips for me? I'd appreciate it!

This fondant looks much easier than making traditional fondant. Does it hold it up just as well as traditional fondant for rolling and shaping over a sculpted cake I wonder??? I'm thinking about using this recipe for my daughter's dog shaped birthday cake. Thank you for posting this! :)
