Karl Marx was a broker is an oxymoron, and draws his inspiration from the mad economic situation of this years.
Karl Marx argued that the structural contradictions within capitalism necessitate its end, giving way to communism.
A broker is a party that mediates between a buyer and a seller in a solid capitalistic system.
Karl Marx was a broker is a power duo of Pistoia, Italy.
The project begins in April 2009, with the casual meeting of Marco Filippi (bass) and Gianluca Ingrassia ( drums ) .
It's difficult to cointain in a specific genre their sound, because of various influences (70's Prog, Metal, Jazz and Funk) of the bass player Marco and (Indie Rock, New Wave, Post Punk, Disco and Electronica) of drummer Gianluca .
To summarize is a mix of Math/Stoner/Doom/Funky things...
The large but tasty use of effects by Marco (mainly loop-station, distorsion and octaver) create a wall of sound that didn't forget about a guitarist and the absense of voice make this mix still more dangerous.
There's a strange thing in KMwab....They are an instrumental bands with lyrics...
You can read them while listening them......
Their first work is the homonymous EP recorded in November 2009 The EP, in spite of the short gestation time, has allowed to KMwab to play around Italy with high level bands and places.
In January 2011, with the experience stored up in 2010 they decide o record their first LP, named Alpha to Omega .

Karl Marx was a broker è un ossimoro che trae ispirazione dalla pazza situazione economica di questi anni.
Karl Marx arrivò alla conclusione che le contraddizioni strutturali interne del
capitalismo porteranno inevitabilmente alla sua fine.
Il broker è un professionista che ricerca e acquista il prodotto che offre il miglior rapporto qualità - prezzo.
I Karl Marx was a broker sono un power duo strumentale di Pistoia.
Il progetto nasce dall'incontro tra Marco Filippi (basso) e Gianluca Ingrassia (batteria) nell'Aprile del 2009.
Difficoltoso racchiudere in un genere ben definito il sound della band, causa le svariate influenze ( 70's Prog, Metal, Jazz e Funk ) del bassista Marco e ( Indie Rock, New Wave, Post Punk, Disco and Elettronica ) del batterista Gianluca.
I pezzi si sviluppano su strutture composte da molteplici trame di basso looppate in tempo reale e distorte, "stritolate" da octaver, distorsori e valvole incandescenti che con precisione chirurgica vengono rimarcate da un drumming intenso e minimale.
Il risultato?
Live ad alta dose di groove miscelato a suoni potenti e ricercati.
Un'altra peculiarità del progetto è la presenza di testi, dello scrittore pistoiese Marco Carlesi, che rappresentano un elemento di innovazione nel panorama delle band strumentali .
Rappresentano visivamente quello che la musica descrive.
Il primo lavoro dei Karl Marx was a broker è l'omonimo EP registrato presso il Controsenso Studio di Prato nel Novembre 2009, sotto la regia di Jonathan Mazzeo.
L'EP, nonostante il ridotto tempo di gestazione, ha permesso al duo di poter suonare in giro per l'Italia in situazioni e con gruppi di alto spessore ( Zu, Zeus, Appaloosa, Bologna Violenta, Lily Refrain,
Plasma Expander, Choas Conspiracy,,O.B.O., Choriachi, Don Vito ecc ecc) .
Nel Gennaio 2011, con l'esperienza accumulata nel 2010, sia per l'esperienza live che per la composizione e scelta dei suoni, i Karl Marx was a broker decidono di raggiungere la città eterna per incidere il loro primo LP dal titolo Alpha to Omega.
