competition hands down!!!

Conway's always the best, but not this time. He's got a wealth of competition on this song. And I'm not so sure he's at the top of the list, altho I 've always been a big fan of his.

I love this song so much. It' s been sung by George Jones, Conway,

Shelton, and others, but didn't know Carl Smith, (married to June Carter)

recorded it. One of the greatest classic country songs.

Hank Garland's work. Or maybe you're just music impoverished with a tin ear.

Definitely needed is a new release of Hank's work. I am having so much trouble getting ahold of anything. Thank God for You-Tube. Somebody needs to bring Hank's work to the attention of the younger country fans so they can hear what they're missing in the modern day country sound. Maybe Dwight...

Much prefer this rendition to Joan Baez's. Sounds much more authentic...like a real mountain man singing while waiting for the mash to cook.
