Johann Sebastian Bach - Weihnachts Oratorium (Christmas Oratorio) (BWV 248):
Third Part / For the Third day of Christmas.
1. Chor.
Ruler of Heaven, hear the murmur, let the dull songs be pleasing to You, when Your Zion exalts You with psalms! Hear the delightful praises of our hearts, when we acknowledge our present awe of You, since our pilgrimage has been confirmed!
2. Rezitativ (Evangelist).
And when the angels went away from them towards heaven, the shepherds said to one another:
3. Chor.
Let us go now towards Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened there, which the Lord has announced to us.
4. Rezitativ.
He has comforted His people, He has rescued His Israel, sending help out of Zion and ending our sorrow. Look, shepherds, He has done this; go, this is what awaits you!
5. Choral.
Kyrieleis!
All this He has done for us, to indicate His great love; for this all Christianity rejoices and thanks Him for it in eternity. Kyrie eleison!

Johann Sebastian Bach Weihnachtsoratorium, BWV 248/3 "Schließe, mein Herze, dies selige Wunder"
In this recording:
Michael Chance w/Orchestre du Collegium Vocale, Ghent/Ph. Herreweghe (1989)
Weihnachtsoratorium, BWV 248 (The Christmas Oratorio) is a musical work by Johann Sebastian Bach celebrating the Christmas season. It consists of various chorales, arias and cantatas. It was written in 1734, although much of the music was recycled from the composer's earlier music, including three secular cantatas written in the same year (BWV 213, 214 and 215), a lost church cantata BWV 248a and the lost St. Mark Passion. It is likely that the text was written by Picander. It is in six parts, each part being a cantata intended for performance on one of the Twelve Days of Christmas (although the work is nowadays often performed as a whole). It is narrated by a Tenor Evangelist, and also makes extensive use of Lutheran hymns.
Original text:
Translation:
Enclose, my heart, this blessed miracle Firmly within your faith! Let this miracle, these divine deeds Ever serve to strengthen Your weak faith!
