I Cory Ross having been born in Red Bluff CA. in 1975 then being raised in Dairyville, Red Bluff, & Cottonwood till our move to Mckinleyville in 1984, you could say im a CALI. kid for sure. I have moved to a few different places over the years a few of them being North Salt Lake City UT., then AZ., Reno NV., Grants Pass OR.,i have always come home to HUMBOLDT CA. Spending most of my teen years doing jobs from auto body repair, construction, choker setter, equipment operator, yard boss, crew foreman, mill work, i managed to survive 3 major industrial accidents. Ranging from double hernias to being hit in the head with a forklift in 1999. After that i was told i needed to find a easier line of work, and i was always good at throwing parties in high school so i decided why not make a job out of it. So taking the name from our 1993 mountain bike crew "The Humboldt Crew" i started T.H.C. Interprizez or Team Hard Core in Oct. of 99. That following summer in 2000 i was introduced to Acts Of Aggression and we worked together on our 1st event, "The Dirt Jump Contest" behind britt lumber. That same year T.H.C. started to take off with several events including "THRILA IN MANILA", "RUKUS IN THA REDWOODS" "BASH BY THA BAY" & the still on going "ROKTOBERFEST". In the early 2000's i was in my early 20's and was raging on the scene as the voice becoming known as "CANDYMAN" so i started doing T.H.C. Int. & CANDYMAN Productions. This venture was only short lived do to the attention i was getting from not only law enforcement but potential sponsors as well. Then is the spring of 2003 Hell On Earth Productions was born and it was a growing process as part of a process to dealing with Acts Of Aggression calling it quits. When A.O.A. split it was questionable if i was going to continue with what had become my life and that was music, crowds, the road, it was a major part of who i had become "CANDYMAN" In the Winter of 2004 A.O.A. & fellow HUMBOLDT legends MANIC combined forces and became FORCEFED TRAUMA & with it came a knew spark of life for me as "CANDYMAN" so with it a started my own knew project known as West Cost Events. When i started W.C.E. It worked out to keep H.O.E. productions and run both, and so i was back at it, booking tours, venues, bands, security, lights, sound basically a 1 MAN WRECKIN KREW! I was booking and promoting events up and down the WEST COAST from Dunefest ReedsPort OR., Summer Cross Nationals Red Bluff CA., Memorial Day Budweiser NITRO Nationals Red Bluff CA., Monster Truck Nationals Red Bluff CA., Rockstars Mayhemfest Marysville CA., To my own " Ear Damage" tour, "Mind As A Weapon" tour, and festivals like "Roktoberfest", "Rukus In The Redwoods", & "Summerfest"! When 2005 rolled around it was full tilt boogie for not only W.C.E. & H.O.E. but "FORCEFED TRAUMA" was exploding on the scene playing with legendary bands like Deeds Of Flesh, Burn In Silence, Light This City, Suicide Silence, Deeds Of Flesh, Decrepit Birth, Suicidal Tendencies, In This Moment, Silent Civilian, Bleed The Sky, Portraits Of Poverty, Angent Orange, Man O War. We were at the top of our game and we had manged to get in with internationally rocognized bands like Slayer, Lamb Of god, Mastadon, Metallica, Damageplan, Kid Rock, Hatebreed, Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy, & Children Of Bodom. During the early years i was offered spots in Florida, Texas, San Diego, Portland, even Seattle. I remained loyal to HUMBOLDT my reasons are simple why would i want to go somewhere else where 20 other guys are trying to do what i do, when i can stay here and pave the way for the future metal heads of HUMBOLDT county. Im a dedicated solider in this HARDCORE army and those of you who know me and have worked with me, you are fully aware of my sacrifices i have made for this scene. One such example is my survival of a near fatal stroke in nov. of 06 shortly after my ROKTOBERFEST 6 with BURN IN SILENCE, OCAMS RAZOR, FORCEFED TRAUMA, & YEAR OF DESOLATION i was in the shower, sneezed, went blind, & woke up 3 days later in the Stanford stroke center. This music is what has saved me time and time again, so i can only hope that some how i can let you in for even just a brief moment of the sensation i enjoy every day and that sensation is ROCK & ROLL!
