My country Colombia has been enslaved for more than 50 years by the violence. But not by any kind of violence...that violence its called FARC -"EP"(The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia -- ironically called "People's Army"). The FARC were created on 1964 by a group of farmers that wanted to fight for their rights, because at that time many farmers were dispossessed of their lands,.Well, until that moment the FARC had a good objective. But then, the FARC started to kill and kidnap many people... you couldn't have a nice vacation with your family in the mountain...because there was the threat of being kidnapped. Since that moment the FARC lost their ideals. Kidnapped people is victim of inhuman threatments, without water, without food, and many of them are chained, waiting for their liberty....and they will have their liberty if their family can pay for them a HUGE sum of money. But this has improved, since the chairmanship of Alvaro Uribe Velez. Now the violencie its controlated, you can travel again with your family, although you have to be careful in Southern Colombia. In the other part of Colombia, you're safe.
Many people thinks that the best way of release the hostages is making the Humanitarian exchange. Other people think that is better to fight against FARC, or making a militar rescue operation.Many of the hostages can´t wait more time... they are victims of many illness like Hepatitits. But guess what happened... the Colombian Army has made a secret operation...and they could release some hostages!!! I'm so happy, because they released more than 10 hostages, like Ingrid Betarncurt. And the best part is that there was any shot at the operation. Nobody died. The Colombian Army was so smart!! When I watched the news I couldn't believe it!! Thanks God for making it possible Im so grateful!!! I wanted to tell you how was the rescue operation, but now I know that some directors want to make a film about it. Let's wait for the movie.
