Kalari payatt is a martial, meditation, healing art form that finds its roots in Dhanurveda, of the ancient science of warfare, and is a 'relative' of yoga and some classical Indian dance forms. Based on the martial and spiritual traditions of Hinduism, Sufism and Buddhism this art is believed to be the mother of many Chinese martial arts. The practice entails ritualistic dance like fighting sequences. It engages both freehand techniques and weapon training and self defence.
