Hi when i get to putting my 3gs into dfu mode (2m30) redsn0w closes. i've tried restarting computer and hard reset of the iphone but it doesnt seem to like it? also my serial 4 & 5th digets are 12 so I'm right in selecting it as an older model? Thanks for anyhelp... :)

sorted it! used the ipsw file to restore in itunes (shift click restore) then when it had done this I jailbroke using redsn0w and selecting ipad baseband and deactivate. From here i just need to insert the sim of the original service carier.
