I want to encourage people from all around the world to travel (especially young people)! I cannot even start on how much it has changed me in a positive way. I took a year off from college to do so and I have to say, traveling teaches a person so much more than they'll ever learn in a classroom. And that what you see on TV or in a textbook isn't always true. ;)

My Story:
I started using youtube in 2006. I got a lot of response from a video I put up where I tried to speak German. My main intention on uploading that video was actually to store it (not thinking anyone would watch it)! I was shocked at how many people viewed and commented on it! During the time I made that video, I was looking to be an Au Pair (Nanny) in France. I learned French for 5 years in school and wanted practice and an opportunity to travel. I didn't find any families in France, however, I got requests from a few German families. At first I thought, there's no way I'm going to Germany! I had to go to France. As more time passed I began to think, well, how hard can learning German be? (Haha, I soon found out!) So, coincidentally I ended up getting a job in Germany, living there a year, and learning German! The first few months were really tough, but in the end I loved Germany and didn't want to leave! I still miss Germany to this day. So, I post some videos speaking German on here to practice, and perhaps improve, as I don't have much opportunity to speak it being back in the U.S. Feel free to correct my German when I make mistakes! I won't be offended. =)
