No fim da década de 90, no auge do Mangue Beat, Kadu deixou o Rio de Janeiro e se mandou para Recife, onde pôde vivenciar toda a experiência daquele que foi um dos últimos movimentos significativos e de expressão e inovação na música brasileira. O resultado dessa imersão é visto até hoje em seus shows, quando funde com maestria singular o peso e a rebeldia do rock com a sensibilidade e a delicadeza de temas nordestinos em seus shows.
De volta ao Rio, Kadu ingressou na faculdade de letras da Universidade Federal, mas logo abandonou o curso depois de entrevistar Cassia Eller em uma rádio comunitária onde havia começado a trabalhar como locutor em um programa que divulgava músicas de artistas independentes. Os dois tocaram juntos a canção "Yer Blues", dos Beatles, ao vivo. Esse encontro foi decisivo para o músico compor, produzir, e lançar o primeiro disco de sua banda na época, chamado "Eletrorfeu", além de acompanhar inúmeros artistas pelo país, como guitarrista.
Em 2007, Kadu gravou o primeiro disco dos "Creme Crackers" - dupla formada com, o também cantor e compositor, Sid Mazzei - que reúne em seu repertório algumas de suas melhores composições e registros como cantor e guitarrista. A dupla ainda está em atividade fazendo shows, e produzindo seu segundo disco.
No ano seguinte, o músico produziu o disco "Dub Wise Town" junto dos DJs Fernando D. e Lívio Maddalena em seu apartamento, e disponibilizou todo o material na internet gratuitamente.
Em breve, o músico lança seu primeiro disco solo, que terá, entre canções próprias, uma releitura de "How do you sleep?" (de John Lennon), faixa lançada em abril de 2009, no CD "John Lennon -- Letra & Música", produzido pelo pesquisador musical Marcelo Fróes e lançado por seu selo, o "Discobertas".

Kadu Mota was born in Rio de Janeiro, where he, self-taught, learned to play guitar at the age of nine. After impressing everyone with his musicianship, at twelve he won his first electric guitar. And among the cream of brazilian music and his passion for rock and the blues, his first compositions were born.
In the late '90s, at the height of the "Mangue Beat", Kadu left Rio to the city of Recife, where he could experience the whole atmosphere of one of the last significant movements of expression and innovation in brazilian music. The result of this immersion is seen today in his shows, where he skillfully blends a unique rebel and heavy rock with the sensitivity and delicacy of northeastern themes.
Back in Rio, Kadu joined college at UFRJ to study Language and Literature, but soon dropped out after interviewing Cassia Eller (a legendary brazilian rock singer, tragically dead in 2001) in a radio show where he started working as an announcer, promoting music from independent artists. Kadu and Cassia played together the song "Yer Blues" by The Beatles, live. This meeting was decisive for the musician to compose, produce, and release the first album of his band at the time, called "Eletrorfeu", while he was also playing in several gigs across the country, as a guitarist.
In 2007, Kadu recorded the first album of "Creme Crackers" - a rock band with another singer and songwriter, Sid Mazzei - which gathers some of his best compositions and performances as a singer and guitar player. The band is still in business making concerts and producing their second album.
The following year, Kadu has produced the album "Dub Wise Town," with DJs Fernando D. and Livio Maddalena, in his own apartment, providing all tracks on the Internet for free.
The musician is now about to release his first solo album, which has, among his own compositions, a version of John Lennon's "How do you sleep?", track released in April 2009, at the CD "John Lennon - Music & Lyrics", produced by music researcher Marcelo Froes and released by his label, "Discobertas."
