My tips for animating:

Get a tripod. Don't even bother to animate without one. This keeps the camera still. For even more stillness, use a timer for each picture so that when you push down the button of the camera it won't look bad in the results.

Use string! Loop around the joints, the main joints to loop around are the shoulders and the knees for me. Head and feet also, it depends. Edit this out on a program like photoshop, not paint!

Get a plain background. It looks clean and simple.

Move every joint on the fig in every picture of the animation! It should not be stiff. Take lots of pictures to make it look smooth! The average move for me is about 45 - 60 pictures and for a taunt, 15 - 20 pictures.

Give reactions and impact after moves. You can pull the ropes down and let go as the picture goes off.

Take your time, if you rush, it will turn out like crap, trust me.

If the figure has trouble standing or you take the figure out of the ring and need to know where to replace it, use sticky tack or blu tack.

Programs I use:

iStopMotion - For the animation

iMovieHD - For the editing, speeding, sound, transitions, etc...

LiveType - For special effects, name plates, belt graphics, pyros, and overlapping moving titantron videos onto the stage, I do not use green screen!

Photoshop - For editing out string.

WireTap Pro - For recording sound off of You Tube videos.

MPEG Streamclip - For downloading videos and titantrons from You Tube.
