Yes, the album is flawed..especially considering Morbid's standards...but it is certainly not death metals 'St Anger'

Ah dude, are we listening to the same album? There are 6 straight up death metal tracks on Illud - Blades of Baal, Existo, Nevermore, Beauty, 10 and I am Morbid (yes..a song can have mid tempos and still be considered death metal refer to Blessed Are the Sick/Leading the Rats for a prime example)...

@LordHines420 Nothing is Not from Formulas also happens to feature strummed chords. In fact, it's not uncommon for a death metal band to occasionally have strummed chords in sections of certain songs.

Hell, grindcore is almost pretty much entirely made up of strummed chords.
