Thanks to all you guys and girls that made it out to Firetrap Sessions Edinburgh at CABARET VOLTAIRE on Thursday 22nd May, to celebrate the successful launch of our flagship store on Multrees Walk. With more than 500 people through the doors to enjoy the fun and frolics, Firetrap Sessions proved to be the party not to be missed.

CLASH ARTICLE
The Firetrap Sessions rolled into Edinburgh this week to serve up yet another fine night of musical delight to a packed crowd in Edinburgh's legendary Cabaret Voltaire.
With The Duke Spirit and local heroes Frightened Rabbit dolling out rollicking live rock and roll and JG Wilkes and the Clash DJs unhinging hips on the dancefloor with their dextrous deck skills, Firetrap celebrated the recent opening of their flagship Edinburgh store on Multrees Walk in the fine style that their Firetrap Sessions gigs have become known for.
With tickets being given out through their store for free, the party quite quickly became the hottest ticket in town and within an hour of the doors opening several hundred punters were swaying to the funky indie rock and dance sounds of the Clash DJs. Frightened Rabbit then took to the stage to showcase the finest moments from their recent album 'Midnight Organ Fight' on uber-cool imprint Fat Cat Records, swathing the crowd in a blissfully cinematic warm up show which set the evening up perfectly. They have been touted as Glasgow's newest hometown Art School success story and you could see why from the depth of their sound and the affection the crowd held them in.
The Duke Spirit then burst on stage to a tumultuous reception with spellbinding front-woman Leila Moss grinning widely as she cheekily greeted the crowd before launching into standouts tracks like 'The Step & The Walk' and amazing new single 'My Sunken Treasure' from sophomore album 'Neptune'. The Duke Spirit, and Moss in particular, have an amazing presence on stage and built the atmosphere on the night to a real crescendo by putting on a performance with real heart and soul and just a touch of balls.
The edgy blues rock sounds of the evening's live headliner set proceedings up perfectly for JG Wilkes of Scotland's crossover kings of the crossfader, Optimo who took the roof off the dancefloor with a heady concoction of funk, disco, rock & roll, and techno soul before handing the baton back to the Clash DJ's to finish the evening as they started, being inundated with requests from an eager crowd inspired by all they'd heard all night.
With a fantastic venue, great bands, fine drinks, the best DJs and a fantastic capacity crowd, all provided for free by a cool brand you can hardly fail to enjoy yourself. It was an amazing one-off show. Now we look forward to the main Firetrap Sessions tour in September/October round Edinburgh, London, Liverpool, Leeds and Belfast.
