I'm a guy trying to discover enlightment with a sense of humor. I am heavily influenced by my idol Alan Watts, the philosopher who got me interested in Buddhism. Because, it seems that modern science is in perfect harmony with ancient teachings that were created thousands of years ago. Two different ways to discover the nature of reality, direct experience and the long drawn out process of thinking about it.
About Me:
Beings are numberless, I vow to save them.
Delusions are inexhaustible, I vow to end them.
Dharma Gates are boundless, I vow to enter them.
The Buddha's way is unsurpassable, I vow to become it.
"And those that were seen dancing were thought insane by those that could not hear the music." -Nietzsche
"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently" -Nietzsche
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." -Buddha
"You don't understand the basic assumptions of your own culture, if your own culture is the only culture you know." -Alan Watts
"No work or love will flourish out of guilt, fear, or hollowness of heart, just as no valid plans for the future can be made by those who have no capacity for living now." -Alan Watts
"The reason we have poverty is that we have no imagination. There are a great many people accumulating what they think is vast wealth, but it's only money... they don't know how to enjoy it, because they have no imagination. " -Alan Watts
"Trapped and trap, are one. And when you understand that there isn't any trap left." -Alan Watts
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." -Mahatma Gandhi
"Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." -Mahatma Gandhi
"In touch with our wholeness,
with a heart filled with love,
there is no such thing as a stranger,
not in ourselves or in others.
In the expanse of true happiness,
there is nowhere for fragmentation to take root." - Sharon Salzberg
"I had a discussion with a great master in Japan... and we were talking about the various people who are working to translate the Zen books into English, and he said, "That's a waste of time. If you really understand Zen... you can use any book. You could use the Bible. You could use Alice in Wonderland. You could use the dictionary, because... the sound of the rain needs no translation." -Alan Watts
"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do." -Sarah Ban Breathnach
"If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."
--Jesus Christ

"There are only two roads that lead to something like human happiness. They are marked by the words . . . love and achievement. . . . In order to be happy oneself it is necessary to make at least one other person happy. . . . The secret of human happiness is not in self-seeking but in self-forgetting." Dr. Theodor Reik
