I uploaded this file too (with the original audio captured by the Flip UltraHD II 3rd generation camcorder) so you could hear the comparison. My first upload was this video but with the Olympus WS-700 audio edited into the video. . I wanted to shuffle back and forth between the two audios but couldn't figure out how so instead, I saved the video twice...once with the WS-700 audio track and one with the Flip UltraHD II 3rd generation audio track. This is the one with the Flip UltraHD audio track.

I recorded this video with the Flip UltraHD II 3rd generation camcorder and the audio with the Olympus WS-700M digital audio recorder. You will be hearing audio from the Olympus only, not from the Flip. I wanted to do an audio comparison but couldn't figure out how to alternate between the two so I uploaded another video with the Flip audio (link is at the beginning of this video). And, the dark video is not the fault of the Flip. It was very low lighting on my part. Also the "cut" feature I was talking about that I hated was the "Low Cut Filter".
P.S.ALSO, thanks to an encouraging comment I received here last night, I uploaded the whole song to my other profile. Here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzJ9eB...

Hammering is construction being done in the school yard. Just a note, this Flip Ultra is the most recent of the Ultras (2009) put out by the last company before Cisco bought it over. It provided a pouch, and a TV composite wire. The UltraHD did not. The size and the screen size of both units is the same. Since I primarily got the Flip UltraHD camera for recording music videos, I found that the UltraHD mics recorded very loudly and the audio broke up to distortion and youtube didn't play nice with the upload so I got the Flip Ultra the other day to see how it recorded. It had more bass in the recording but not the audio brightness and the wide range that the Ultra HD had. The Ultra HD has omnidirectional mics. The Ultra doesn't. (at least according the comparison on the Flip website and my testing agrees. So I'll stick with the UltraHD and try improving it by reduce the volume in my editing software. Here's the site: http://www6.nohold.net/CiscoFlip/ukp....) Also, video wise, the Ultra HD performed better than the Ultra when recording indoors. The face was softer compared to the harsher Ultra. But outside the window, the Ultra had better colors than UltraHD which was odd to me.

UPDATE: I got a Zoom H1 Audio recorder and I just put a song I did with the Flip Audio and the Zoom H1 audio edited together in "Video Responses" below the comments in this video. The song is called: "Where did we go wrong". They make a nice combination.
Yes, youtube did affect the sound once again. I just compared it with the original. A very slight phaser sound. Not as bad as my previous Flip uploads. Don't know why they don't address that. I saw a complaint about this on one of youtube's message boards. Ok, here's what I did with this file. I converted it to .wmv with Sony Vegas Pro. Then I opened and edited it in Windows Movie Maker for XP but the edit was just to remove a few words from the video. No audio effects were added. Then I uploaded it to youtube. For quality depreciation after conversions, definitely on the video. Original file is much more detailed and colorful. Sony Vegas Pro did a better job but then Movie Maker bleached out some of the color and change the aspect ration. It was originally 1280 by 720 and they changed it to 640 by 480. Although, after uploading it I found that you can change that in Options of Movie Maker to 16:9. It was originally at 4:3.
The audio in my converted file was virtually identical to the original though which is what this review is about. Of course I'm cranking out singing here but I picked this song for that reason. To test out what it could do. I'm still testing things out myself.
