This channel provides a glimpse of day to day life working for a gold mining company operating in the jungles of Liberia, West Africa.
Located at 6°N 9°W, Liberia sits on the Atlantic coast and is bordered by Sierra Leone, Guinea and Cote D'Ivore. The climate is Sub-Saharan tropical, meaning it is hot. Really hot. Liberia is also one of the wettest places in the world with an average annual rainfall of 202 inches.
The Liberian jungle is some of the densest on the planet and equally dangerous. Once outside of Monrovia or Robertsport, there are few roads penetrating the interior of the country. Few are paved. This just makes the experience all the more exciting.
It is said that all young boys have dreams of jungle adventures. While I am getting mine a little later in life, this is an extraordinary experience.

Delta does NOT fly direct from the U.S.. To date, it is Atlanta to Accra, Ghana, THEN onto Monrovia.
Still, this is a huge win for Liberia and the region. The normal route, at least for me, has been to get to Europe, then to Brussels, then to Monrovia. What a drag.
