Judson Rockets Final Exam: 1992
This Division I 5A championship took place on December 12, 1992 in Memorial Stadium at UT Austin. Jerod Douglas broke Chris Pryor's single-season rushing record during the Rockets' second drive of the day. The Trinity Trojans, under first-year Head Coach Ed Hickman, had a learning curve that included five (5) losses, but they were maturing and learning quickly. This matchup was the Final---albeit rough---learning experience for them, but they came back very strong for 1993 and thereafter, and it launched them into an elite program status that ultimately attracted Coach Steve Lineweaver to the program, and which finally led to two (2) much more fulfilling rematches with the Rockets in the 2000's.

Judson Rockets Final Exam: 1990
This matchup occured on December 22, 1990 at the Astrodome and was a much anticipated matchup between the Judson Rockets coached by DW Rutledge and the Marshall Mavericks coached by Dennis Parker. They were defensive and offensive coordinators respectively at Judson when the Rockets beat Midland Lee in the 1983 Finals. They assumed their present positions soon after the victory.
