What'd make this one a bit better would be if you could do those functions from your PC mouse and keyboard once "docked" via USB. Wish list.

Ah! I was not aware of the external mic jack! This removes one of major shortcomings I had seen in this unit. I could theoretically use four mic sources NOT resident on the H4n. The mics are vulnerable on this unit. One drop and you're hosed.

Question for all of you--is this THE sole 4-track unit this size out there? I know about the Edirol R4--a beast--but is this the only other? Another question--is there any chance of getting two inputs out of those onboard mic inputs--in the case one doesn't want to use them? Seems like it's not T...
