Iron Shirt Wing Chun is a system developed by combining the principals of both Iron Shirt Chi Kung and Wing Chun Gung Fu. It was not created intentionally; it just manifested itself in a way. My posture was misaligned, and without fixing my posture; I could not effectively utilize the proper Wing Chun stance. And without seeing how correct and effective my Si-Gung's Wing Chun stance is; I might have never realized what a valuable tool proper posture is when applying fighting techniques. My stance/posture is still far from perfect but with help from the Healing Tao System I've been able to learn about the internal components of a properly rooted and aligned stance and gradually correct my skeletal structure for increasing mechanical advantage and efficiency.

In today's world of "mixing" and "hybrid styles" some may assume ~Iron Shirt / Wing Chun~ is a kind of mixture or "hybridization" but actually it is simply a reunification and preservation. Because in modern times and especially in the western hemisphere the internal / healing side of martial arts is mainly unknown, so the mention of "Iron Shirt" in the name is to remind people of the internal side, and to give credit to its benefits. Throughout history Chi Gung and Gung fu have always been trained together and are basically one in the same. But over the past century they have separated and refined further; each specializing in its own field and boiling down to become more condensed, simplified, and potent. Yet, the two systems still have complimentary principals and together form a balance of opposites; internal & external; or Yin & Yang; both in practice and philosophy. They both can be trained without altering either one; and they actually enhance one another. Currently it is a closed door system practiced only by myself and my younger Gung Fu brother. Our drilling methodologies are kept secret and shared only with other members of our lineage. *Please do not attempt to copy us; serious injury may occur ;}
About Me:

I enjoy practicing martial arts and documenting my progress, We do not claim to be a masters. I appreciate both the creative aspect of martial arts as well as the internal / healing aspect but the combative side is the most fun of all. I know there is always plenty of room for improvement. I encourage others to post videos of their martial arts as well because there are too many supposed "internet know-it-alls" with a lot to say but nothing to show; and it's interesting to *see the way others practice. We mostly try to keep it standing because in case of multiple opponents and/or concealed weapons it is safer to stay standing if possible. Only in organized competitions or sports such as mma, bjj, and wrestling can one remain on the ground for extended periods of time as valid self defence. Going to or staying on the ground is the last thing someone in a real life survival situation would want to do. There are some good ground fighting concepts. Although what I practice is predominately stand-up, it does not necessarily mean that I use no submissions. Controls and locks are actually just as/ if not more effective from a standing position. I understand Wing Chun as a stand-up grappling w/ strikes, throws, chokes, sweeps; everything. Martial Arts need to be all-inclusive, as far as fighting techniques are concerned. I am thankful that my lineage has given me this philosophy.
