It's definitely not easy when you reject society's standard scripts for how to become an adult. You know going after the perfect job, car, and house by working for someone is a hollow, meaningless pursuit in my mind.
Throughout my experiences in life so far I have realized that not having complete control of my life and depending on a job to bring financial freedom is not the way to go. Because I'm very stubborn, optimistic, and an introvert I am determined to find a legal "be my own boss" way to create the lifestyle I dream of which is just being able to do what I want, when I want, wherever I want on my own whim.
While I was my sophomore year of college, I took a leadership class which helped me to discover something about myself- I have an untapped passion for helping people. However, at the time and until the present I had no realization of making that discovery a possibility in my life. Not being able to be in total control of your life, I feel can be very depressing at times.
Knowing that you have to trade your time for dollars just to live is an awful reality. Some people may call me young and inexperienced but I feel that not only can I take control of my own life but also help others do the same and live life to the fullest.
