jazz guitarist, Jake Reichbart has been
among the busiest freelance guitarists in
the greater Detroit region. As a sideman,
he appears on countless recordings and
jingles and has performed alongside
Motown legends and jazz greats alike,
performing in more than 4,200 live gigs.
Some of his rock, funk and blues chops
can be heard on the accompanying CDs
to several Hal Leonard instructional bass
books by Jon Liebman.
His passion, though, has always been solo guitar,
citing Joe Pass and Tuck Andress as his
main influences, while creating a unique
voice of his own. He can arrange for
the guitar nearly any tune imaginable,
drawing from any musical style. His
CDs 16 Songs and Long Ago and Far
Away have received nominations for
best jazz recording at the Detroit Music
Awards and have garnered rave reviews
from such prestigious publications as
All Music Guide, Just Jazz Guitar, and
Cadence, as well as from numerous radio
stations across the US and abroad. Jake
cites his most enjoyable solo work as a
restaurant guitarist, creating long term
relations and enjoying a loyal following.
He has been performing weekly for
the past 19 years at Ann Arbors most
famous restaurant, The Earle.

virtuos playing while keeping everything together. Thanks for your solo guitar music. Do you arrange those titles yourself. What is your main approach and what do you think about the relation of chord and melody in this style. My aim always is to arrange some charlie parker bebop things Yardbird suite, scrapple etc, but it happens after a while that I loose my nerves on getting everything together in musical way. Maybe you have some suggestions...
