Freelance guitarist from Ann Arbor, MI, USA. www.jakereichbart.com
About Me:

Hello and thanks for visiting! Since 1991, the year I moved to Ann Arbor, MI, I have had the good fortune of being one of the busiest freelance guitarists in the wider Detroit metro area, working with numerous bands and artists and playing more than 4000 (four thousand!) live gigs. I have a fair/medium amount of recording credits, perhaps a few dozen, including a variety of artists and regional/national jingles. I also appear on a few Hal Leonard instructional CDs as a sideman. Throughout this period, though, solo guitar has been my main gig, working mostly regular gigs at restaurants as well as cocktail parties, wedding ceremonies, etc. As my main influences were Joe Pass and Tuck Andress, and since I have been getting a wide range of requests on my gigs, I begun to incorporate lots of pop tunes into my solo guitar repertoire. I might also mention that I have two solo guitar CDs available: 16 Songs (2000) and Long Ago And Far Away (2001), the latter receiving a great deal of international press which you can see at my website. Both have been nominated to the Detroit Music Awards in the jazz category. Please inquire about purchasing.

Anyway... As of this writing (March 2008), and for some time now, I have lightened up my performance schedule somewhat to allow for more time at home with my wife and two small boys. Also, as I've grown older, I find myself wanting to return to the art which got me interested in the guitar in the first place. These factors acted as a catalyst to pick up the guitar and practice again as well as to start posting these videos, mostly in the solo guitar format. Since I posted my first video, Penny Lane (which to my mind looks and sounds terrible...), in late February 2008, I have tried to improve the quality of the audio and video. The format is the same though, I just sit there and play. I'm told I have a bit of a blank stare - I'm truly sorry about that, it's probably the result of playing too many gigs for people who are eating and drinking... Nevertheless, I do put my heart and soul into all my performances, and I hope you enjoy them. I will post many more, including some trio/quartet stuff, as this is quite fun and I welcome all comments.

TABs/Lessons:

I am amazed and flattered at the amount of requests I have been getting for TABs. TABs take forever to write out and don't really tell the whole story so instead I do offer lessons/transcriptions by video/DVD: Upon request, I will produce a video lesson on DVD just for you, showing one note/chord at a time how to play a song of your choice with a close-up on the hands. The lesson itself will run about 60 -120 minutes and the DVD often includes extras and bonuses. I have uploaded a video with some samples, check it out! Please contact me for more details.

Thanks!

Hey-a blank stare is better than a blank sound anyday! Agree with brianwilsonfan some bacharach or maybe some jimmy webb @ Glenn Campbell would be sweet. Happy new year from Cleveland you are not far away so putting you on my "go listen to in person list."

Thanks for the wonderful music. Interesting how jazzy Motown stuff is. Would love to hear your take on some Bacharch and David; Brazil '66; country classics, like "Silver Wings," or "Crazy." Maybe a medley? Gracias!
